Studies in Movement and Form

2022-2024

Movement leaves traces beyond the body itself. These works explore anatomy, rhythm, and abstraction through reduced forms, gestural marks, and structural color. The focus is not dance alone, but the tension, balance, and energy embedded within movement.

MOVEMENT ANATOMY COLOR STRUCTURE GESTURAL MARKS FIGURATIVE ABSTRACTION

Overview

The figure is not treated as a subject to be depicted, but as a material for construction.

Detail recedes in favor of mass, rhythm, and chromatic relationships, where form is rebuilt through reduction, negative space, and gestural marks.

The works move between anatomy and abstraction, resisting a fixed or complete definition of the body. Certain areas remain precisely articulated, while others are left open to color, light, and suggestion.

Approach

The figure is not treated as a subject to be depicted, but as a material for construction.

The work begins with anatomical structure, but does not remain bound to it. Forms are reduced, fragmented, and reconstructed in search of balance between mass, line, and color.

Color is not used to describe reality, but to establish visual relationships that guide the composition and generate its energy.

Process

Color is not used to describe reality, but to establish visual relationships that guide the composition and generate its energy.

Hero Image
"The body does not appear here as a form available to vision, but as a possibility formed between light and its own disappearance; as if matter has lost its certainty and begun to remember itself through color. In this visual field, the image is not drawn, but its boundaries are eroded in favor of a perception that never fully completes itself."
