MOVEMENT & MEMORY
Abstract
Lyrical Abstraction & Chromatic Transformations
2018
These abstract works explore the relationship between colour, movement, and perception. Through layered pigments, fluid transitions, and expressive mark making, the series investigates states of transformation, emergence, and emotional resonance. Each composition is conceived as a visual field where intuition, structure, and spontaneity coexist.

Overview
Exploring colour, movement, and visual rhythm
Rather than depicting objects or landscapes, the paintings investigate movement, memory, and perception. Through layered pigments and fluid structures, each work invites personal interpretation and emotional engagement.
Balancing spontaneity with control, the compositions evolve through emergence, dissolution, and continual visual change.
Approach

Exploring colour, movement, and visual rhythm
My approach combines intuitive mark making with deliberate compositional structure. Colour becomes the primary language through which energy, depth, and emotion are communicated.
Successive layers are added, removed, and refined through an iterative process. Areas of density are balanced with openness, while movement and stillness coexist within a carefully considered visual framework. The result is a field of evolving forms where perception remains fluid and meaning continuously unfolds.
Process
Each work begins with exploratory colour studies and instinctive gestures that establish mood, direction, and spatial relationships across the surface.
